Irrigation Systems
At Clean Cut Lawn & Landscape, we have a thorough understanding of irrigation systems and their applications. We believe the first point to understand about a lawn irrigation system is that they simply can not take the place of rain. The main reason is because of the natural, even distribution of water across your property. However, as licensed irrigators we try to come as close as we possibly can by following a few simple yet very important guidelines. Our objective is not only to provide an efficient system but also to conserve as much water as possible in the process.

The most important step in installing an efficient system is the design process. At Clean Cut Lawn & Landscape, we make sure that sprinkler heads are positioned in what is called head-to-head spacing. This simply means that the first head sprays water far enough to reach the second head and the second head sprays water far enough to not only reach back to the first head but also to reach the third and so on. By doing this we accomplish a very even rate of water distribution across the lawn which will eliminate any combination of drier or wetter areas.

Since plants, flowers and grass will all demand a different rate of moisture and sunny areas verses shady areas will do the same, we take this into consideration when breaking the system into watering ?stations? or ?zones?. For example your beds will be irrigated separately from the turf because if watered together we would drown your landscape before the grass received enough water to survive our 98 degree summers.

As stated above, correct head spacing and zoning are key in installing an ?efficient? system however the ?precipitation rate? is most important. We can have all the sprinkler heads in the right places and zones broken out correctly and still over or under water your lawn and/or landscape by not paying attention to the shady vs. sunny areas or low vs. high areas. All of this is taken in to consideration when programming your controller.

Buyer Beware ? A Few Things To Consider

At Clean Cut Lawn & Landscape, we use only the highest quality components available. Most heads and controllers bought at the local hardware store are simply not made to last as long as the professional grade equipment offered at our supply houses, even if the manufacturer is the same.

Make sure the contractor you choose understands that you are interested in not only an efficient system but also a system that will conserve water. Many installers will simply install sprinkler heads on the four corners of your lawn, spraying over sidewalks and walkways in order to keep their cost down, not caring that you will be paying for water that is simply running down the sewer drain.

When purchasing an irrigation system the consumer should make sure that the contractor they choose is licensed by the State of Texas. Irrigation in Texas is regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. While the State requires that all irrigation companies have a Licensed Irrigator on staff they have very little means of enforcing it. Therefore there are a lot of individuals and companies installing systems illegally. This can present a problem to you should your system be installed incorrectly and the public water system is contaminated.

Beware of the ?Low Bidder?. As with most things you buy, with sprinkler systems ?You get what you pay for?. The lowest priced system is most likely comprised of components bought at the local hardware store, positioned in a manner that he can save money and there is a good chance that he is not licensed by the State of Texas. Any one or a combination of these issues will cost you more in the long run.

We look forward to an opportunity to work with you on your project. And we thank you for visiting our website and considering Clean Cut Lawn & Landscape as your contractor of choice.

Organic Fertilization
Providing your lawn and plants with the proper nutrients it
needs to grow and maintain proper color is a key factor in maintenance. We are fully qualified to evaluate your lawn and supplement it with the correct nutrients and watering regiment.
It's typically best to fertilize three to four times a year, a treatment that includes a winterizing agent that best serves in
developing a healthy, beautiful lawn. It's important to remember that everyone has the potential for a gorgeous lawn. With the proper care and attention, we can help you make this a reality for your home.

Restoration
Many times it can become difficult to maintain your landscape to its full potential. The change in seasons can cause plants to die and your once-beautiful landscape to become cluttered with debris. One of the services we offer includes restoring your landscape to its original state, or possibly even improving it above and beyond its former appearance. We usually start by clearing your flower beds of weeds and debris, trimming overgrown plants, and removing unneeded plants. We then come back with additional mulch and color (annuals or perennials), restoring your yard to any desired appearance.

Rock Borders and Drains
Accent your home and landscape by having Clean Cut Lawn and Landscape build rock borders and/or drains for your home. Thinking about adding gutters? Are your flower beds being flooded every time we get a heavy rain? Don't waste your time on the expense of gutters. We can incorporate rock around any home that will allow for proper drainage and add a beautiful touch to your landscape.

Our rock borders can include anything from single or double layered moss rock to 8' high retention walls. Simply tell us what you want or give us an idea, and we can use illustrations of previous work to find exactly what is right for your personal needs.

Tree Trimming
Both trees and plants must be trimmed on a regular basis to
allow for a maximized potential appearance and development of your landscape. We offer such services on all varieties of plants and trees, no matter how big or small.

Small shrubs and hedges can be trimmed on a one time basis or regular basis depending on your needs. Even if you don't use any of our other services on a regular basis, we're happy to trim your trees and plants once or twice throughout the year. We can also give estimates on larger trees that need to be trimmed or removed.

Financing
We have financing programs available that are convenient, easy to begin, and hassle free. In-house financing is available with a 50% down payment and 180 days same as cash option. John Deere financing is also available for an extended amount of time. Both programs are subject to approval before financing.

Commercial Projects
Clean Cut Lawn also specializes in commercial projects for
landscaping. We can handle a wide variety of projects including
subdivision landscaping, commercial buildings, and apartment
complexes.

LANDSCAPE LIGHTING:
We use only top quality low voltage lighting products. Lights from CAST Lighting or Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting. We have found these lights to be the best available.

CAST Lighting Manufactures state-of-the-art Landscape Lighting Fixtures, and complete Landscape Lighting System Components. CAST fixtures are hand-crafted sand-cast solid bronze at a price comparable to aluminum landscape lighting fixtures.

Vista will guarantee their fixtures and transformers for three years against mechanical and electrical defects, their rain tight transformers for five years and the ten years on the finish of the fixtures. All Vista transformers are circuit breaker and thermally protected, there are no fuses to keep up with. The units we install include a mechanical timer that turns system on and off as many times as desired within a 24 hour period. Vista transformers are also available photocell activated to come on at dusk and go off after a preset number of hours, or at sunrise, so you don't have to reset the time after power outages and time changes. The bulbs used most often in our lighting average 4000 hour life and are widely available.

We believe that a good landscape lighting system will enhance your home in three general ways:
  • Safety - Landscape lighting will illuminate steps and walkways with soft, comforting light
  • Security - Landscape lighting illuminates dark areas around your home where burglars prey without overwhelming and unattractive spotlights.
  • Beautification - Landscape lighting works magic with light and shadows transforming your existing landscaping into a usable nighttime extension of your home, complementing both house and landscape
In designing our landscape lighting systems we strive to create a balanced look that will accent the architecture of your home by illuminating arches, columns or corners. We strategically place fixtures in the landscaping and along pathways so that your beautiful landscaping can be enjoyed and appreciated as much after sundown as it is during the day.
